Former Globeleza Aline Prado rises as an actress with the film Família de Sorte, the series Redoma, and an original stage project.
Born in the Andaraí community in Rio de Janeiro, Aline Prado, now 38, is living a new artistic phase. After eight years as Globeleza, one of Brazil’s most iconic Carnival figures, she’s embracing cinema, television, and theater with renewed energy.
In Família de Sorte, directed by Viviane Ferreira, Aline plays Niara, a yogini and lifestyle influencer who joins a reality show and stirs the plot “like a true namastreta,” she jokes. Filmed in Cotia, São Paulo, the production will premiere later in 2026.
She also stars in the new series Redoma, filmed in Bahia, exploring social ambition and moral limits. “My character questions how far one is willing to go to achieve social mobility,” says Aline.
Aline’s journey began in a community dance project before she trained at Centro de Dança Rio. Encouraged by renowned samba choreographer Carlinhos do Salgueiro, she discovered a path that would lead from the stage to the screen.
Reflecting on her past, she views the Globeleza era as formative: “I was already performing—creating a character that didn’t exist in real life for eight years. That was acting.” Aline later studied theater and journalism, determined to expand her artistic scope. “Breaking stereotypes took work and study, but it made me stronger.”
She is currently co-creating an original theater production with Shirley Cruz and Cibele Maria. “It’s a deeply personal project, born from love and collaboration,” she says.
Looking ahead, Aline wants to deepen her acting career internationally. “I want to live many lives through great stories. The possibilities keep me inspired.”
