Gilmelândia leaves MasterChef Celebrities after carrot cake flop in dessert challenge. Singer surprised everyone and got a brooch from Erick Jacquin.
Carrot cake mishap ends run
On Tuesday (6), Gilmelândia was eliminated from MasterChef Celebrities. She made a carrot cake for rivals’ favorite desserts. The texture disappointed the judges.
Erick Jacquin said: “It has a completely different texture. It seems like you didn’t add yeast, not cooked properly, but I liked it”. Guest Diego Lozano added: “Some gastronomy recipes went wrong but turned into hits. This one’s on a similar path”.
“I’m calm because I thought I’d exit on debut. I cook at home, but winning pins for tapioca dadinho, barbecue… I couldn’t believe it”
The singer shared her surprise in a Band.com.br interview. On farewell, Jacquin gifted her a brooch. “Whenever I miss my mom, a butterfly appears. It’s been like that since she passed”, she explained.
Northeast pride and takeaways
Gilmelândia celebrated showcasing Northeast culture on national TV. “I represented my Northeast fully. I delivered the show Brazilian TV, MasterChef, and Band deserve”.
The Bahian artist cherished the moments. “When we do things with love, we get it back. I only planted flowers”. She’ll apply lessons at home. “I reached top five. I feel like a winner”.
