A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS lands on HBO Max

HBO Max’s week highlights a major trip back to Westeros: A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS premieres on January 19 as a new HBO Original series set roughly a century before GAME OF THRONES.

The story follows two unlikely travelers: the young, earnest knight Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) and his small squire, Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell). With the Targaryen line still holding the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon lingering, their journey across Westeros draws them into dangerous feats, powerful enemies, and looming destinies.

The cast also includes Daniel Ings, Bertie Carvel, Danny Webb, Sam Spruell, Shaun Thomas, Finn Bennett, Edward Ashley, Tanzyn Crawford, Henry Ashton, Youssef Kerkour, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, and Daniel Monks.

Credits list George R. R. Martin as co-creator and executive producer alongside Ira Parker (co-creator, showrunner, executive producer). Executive producers also include Sarah Bradshaw, Owen Harris, Ryan Condal, and Vince Gerardis, with directing by Owen Harris and Sarah Adina Smith.

Behind the scenes: THE KNIGHT’S PATH

For viewers who love the craft behind fantasy worlds, THE KNIGHT’S PATH premieres on January 19 and takes audiences inside the making of A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS, alongside cast and the production team.

The documentary-style special explores how the HBO Original series was brought to life, focusing on the creative choices and on-set work shaping its tone and scale.

PRIMAL returns with a brutal season 3

Now available on the platform, GENNDY TARTAKOVSKY’S PRIMAL comes back with a third season built for intensity. It opens with a shocking twist that brings Spear back in a new form—stripped of memory and humanity—and forces him to roam a ruthless, untamed world like a shadow of his former self.

As he faces wild landscapes and deadly threats, distant echoes of his past begin to stir, pushing him toward an emotional, explosive reunion that tests the outer limits of survival.

The series is created by Genndy Tartakovsky, with art direction by Scott Wills. Music is composed by Tyler Bates and Joanne Higginbottom, with sound effects design by Joel Valentine.

IMMACULATE brings a dark nightmare

The horror film IMMACULATE premieres on January 16. The plot follows Cecilia (Sydney Sweeney), a devoted nun who travels to an isolated convent in rural Italy seeking spiritual devotion—only to find her promise of faith turning into a terrifying ordeal.

The cast includes Sydney Sweeney, Simona Tabasco, Álvaro Morte, Benedetta Porcaroli, and Dora Romano. The film is directed by Michael Mohan, produced by Sydney Sweeney, Jonathan Davino, and David Bernad, and written by Andrew Lobel.

THE PROMISE reaches season 3

For fans of long-running drama, THE PROMISE is back with its third season now available. A woman earns a job at the Palace of the Promise after saving the Marquis’ son—while secretly plotting to avenge her mother’s death and find her missing brother.

The cast features Amparo Piñero, Andrea del Río, Arturo García Sancho, Carmen Asecas, Carmen Flores, Enrique Fortún, Guillermo Serrano, Isabel Serrano, Joaquín Climent, Manuel Regueiro, Marga Martínez, María Castro, Marta Costa, Sara Molina, Teresa Quintero, and Xavi Lock.

The series is produced by RTVE and STUDIOCANAL in collaboration with Bambú Producciones, created by Josep Cister Rubio.
