Erick Jacquin confronts family tensions to rescue Caravela, a floating restaurant on the Billings Dam, in the new “Pesadelo na Cozinha” episode.
The fifth episode airs next Tuesday (24) at 10:30 p.m. on Band. This time, the French chef finds a family-run business trapped in the past, suffering from poor management and lack of modernization.
Owner Alda makes every decision herself, preventing her children and partners, Aurélio and Ana Paula, from updating the restaurant. The result is an outdated atmosphere, worn-out facilities, and a menu unchanged for over a decade.
In the kitchen, morale is low. Cook Valter deals with poor-quality ingredients, inefficient layout, and even bad practices like frying potatoes in the same oil as fish and seafood.
Though the restaurant draws customers during summer, delays and family conflicts keep them from returning. Now, it’s up to Jacquin to steer the Caravela back on course before it sinks for good.
The Brazilian version of “Kitchen Nightmares” is co-produced by Band and Warner Bros. Discovery. It airs Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m. and streams on Bandplay, Band.com.br, HBO Max, and Discovery Home & Health (Fridays, 8:40 p.m.).
