Mayor of Kingstown’s final season starts filming now

Jeremy Renner and Edie Falco return for the last 8 episodes. David Morse joins as an FBI agent threatening to expose Mike’s darkest secrets.

Paramount+ has announced that production on the fifth and final season of Mayor of Kingstown is now underway in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The news marks the beginning of the end for one of streaming’s most gripping crime dramas, led by Oscar® nominee Jeremy Renner and Emmy® and Golden Globe® winner Edie Falco.

David Morse steps in as a series regular

Veteran actor David Morse joins the cast as Russell Hardy, a seasoned FBI agent dispatched to Kingstown to track down the “fugitive” Callahan. His arrival sets the stage for a collision course with Mike McClusky.

Following Tracy’s murder and the revenge carried out by Mike (Renner) and Kyle (Taylor Handley) against Callahan, Agent Hardy arrives determined to uncover every buried secret in Mike’s past. The delicate power balance that has defined Kingstown is now on the brink of collapse.

A stacked cast for the series finale

The final season also features Tony® Award winner Laura Benanti, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, and Derek Webster, alongside the returning Necar Zadegan, Nichole Galicia, and Lennie James — all across eight closing episodes.

Creative team behind the show

The series was co-created by Oscar® nominee Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon. Executive producers include Sheridan, Dillon, Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Dave Erickson, Wendy Riss, Evan Perazzo, Michael Slovis, Regina Corrado, and Keith Cox. Dave Erickson serves as showrunner.
