Ney Matogrosso Voices Sun-Swallowing Boy

Manoel plays with Pantanal rivers and fish, yet fears the night. Animated series The Boy Who Swallowed the Sun, narrated by the singer, premieres on SescTV this February, honoring childhood fears. Directed by Patrícia Alves Dias, it features 13 seven-minute episodes. Aired Saturdays at 10am, with weekly replays. Draws from Ricardo Pieretti Câmara’s book, Manoel de Barros’ poetry, and the Guató fire myth.

Pantanal Childhood Wonders

Boy Manoel roams the Pantanal. His pal is a dogfish. Rivers become playgrounds. Grandma Donana fights night fears with love. In the opener, Ácó Cene (Feb 7), the river shelters his adventures.
The series turns the Pantanal into a realm of poetry and imagination, celebrating kids’ smarts.
