The true-crime series Operation Fronteira Brazil returns for its fifth season on February 4, launching simultaneously on Discovery and HBO Max. On premiere night, starting at 8:30 PM, three episodes will air back-to-back.

From the following Wednesday onward, the rollout continues with two brand-new episodes per week on both the TV channel and the streaming platform, keeping the pace fast and the stakes high.

New bases, Rio in the spotlight

Built around surprising locations and high-intensity action, the new season highlights newly established operational bases of Brazil’s Federal Highway Police, with a special focus on Rio de Janeiro. Episodes follow roadside operations and cases unfolding along key highways.

The series also broadens its lens beyond border areas. Viewers will see units positioned far from the frontier, working to intercept and seize illicit substances headed toward major urban centers and/or ports.

Real cases and sharp twists

A Discovery franchise, Operation Fronteira Brazil tells real, often surprising stories connected to organized crime and Brazil’s strategic border routes. With impactful twists, the cases aim to highlight the daily challenges and adverse situations faced by the Federal Highway Police.
