New season celebrates musical diversity
Traveling through sounds, stories, and memories from different parts of the country, Sonora Brasil – Encounters, Times, and Territories continues its musical journey in December on SescTV.
Directed by Gabriela Barreto and Tobias Rodil, the production brings together artists, masters, and young musicians in encounters that intertwine tradition and contemporaneity, emotion, and belonging.
December episodes
On December 3, the episode “Pernambuco” opens the month with Mãe Beth, Henrique Albino, and Surama Ramos, highlighting the strength of Pernambuco’s culture.
On December 10, “Rio de Janeiro” showcases the city’s vibrant music with Luciane Dom and Charlles André, featuring bailes charme, samba circles, and studio sessions.
On December 17, “Santa Catarina” highlights the quilombo of Itapocu, with Ana Paula da Silva and Seu Risca, celebrating Catumbi and the Black presence in southern Brazil.
On December 24, “Paraná” presents Zeca and Melina, artists who explore tradition and experimentation in southern Brazil.
Closing the month on December 31, “Federal District” brings together Fernando César and Tiago Tunes for a choro circle celebrating Brasília and its musical heritage.
