Tiago Piquilo is eliminated from “MasterChef Celebrities” after failing with a cod moussaka and not pleasing the judges.
Singer Tiago Piquilo, from the duo Hugo & Tiago, became the sixth contestant to leave MasterChef Celebrities. In Tuesday’s (23) episode, the country artist said goodbye after failing to impress judges Erick Jacquin, Helena Rizzo, and Henrique Fogaça with his Greek-style cod moussaka.
“It’s weird. The intention was nice, but the flavor gets lost. You can’t really tell what it is,” commented Fogaça during the tasting.
In an interview with Band.com.br, Tiago reflected on his journey. “I’m really happy. I didn’t think I’d get past the first challenge, but I made it halfway through the season and had amazing experiences. I can’t be sad,” he said.
Despite his insecurities, the singer remembered his best moment. “I made it to the mezzanine on the first episode. What better motivation than that?” he said with a laugh.
Originally from São Paulo’s countryside, Tiago admitted his limited culinary knowledge but celebrated his progress. “I’ve always been honest about my difficulties and lack of cooking experience. I know I exceeded my own expectations,” he added.
He also said he plans to keep cooking. “Now I know several recipes and I won’t stop. You’ll still see me cooking and acting like a chef,” he joked.
