At BTL 2026 in Lisbon, ABAV Nacional builds partnerships to boost travel between Brazil and Portugal and tourist flows for São João.
ABAV Nacional took center stage at BTL (Better Tourism Lisbon) 2026, celebrating Brazil as the edition’s guest country and advancing strategic collaborations for the national tourism sector. Led by Ana Carolina Medeiros, the association met with APAVT (Portuguese Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies) to enhance cooperation and promote two-way tourism between the two countries.
Key meetings also included representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and Azul Airlines, focusing on strategies to attract Argentine travelers to São João, one of Brazil’s most vibrant and culturally rich regional festivals.
ABAV’s delegation visited the Embratur stand, featuring Marcelo Freixo and a special tribute to Tom Jobim at the Visit Brasil Gallery. The exhibit showcased the nation’s culture and cuisine, with the ocean as a central theme, promoting marine conservation and coastal regeneration.
“Events like BTL act as trend laboratories and promotion strategy hubs. ABAV gathers insights and adapts them to Brazil’s tourism context,” said Ana Carolina Medeiros, highlighting the association’s global engagement.
The participation reinforced ABAV’s mission to connect Brazilian travel agencies with international partners, enhancing professional training and business opportunities across markets. The association continues investing in technology and niche expertise, especially in corporate and experiential tourism.
