Balneário Camboriú — the Brazilian coastal city often dubbed the country’s answer to Orlando — just raised the bar on tourism. On Monday (March 16), Grupo Oceanic officially broke ground on the Oceanic Park, an indoor theme park backed by a R$50 million investment (roughly US$9 million) set to open for the next summer season.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Santa Catarina’s Secretary of Tourism, Catiane Seif, Balneário Camboriú’s Mayor, Juliana Pavan, and Grupo Oceanic CEO Kiko Buerger.

What Oceanic Park will feature

Spanning approximately 23,000 square meters of built area, the park will offer more than a hundred ocean-themed attractions. Highlights include one of Brazil’s largest indoor roller coasters, a carousel, pirate ship, bumper cars, a drop tower, a playground, an 80-game arcade floor, and a dedicated exhibition level.

All rides have been sourced from leading European manufacturers and are already in production. “We purchased state-of-the-art rides in Europe, which are already being built. There will be over a hundred attractions inside the park, with options for all ages,” said CEO Kiko Buerger.

We are very happy with the start of construction. This will be Grupo Oceanic’s sixth attraction in the city. We purchased state-of-the-art rides in Europe, which are already being built. There will be over a hundred attractions inside the park, with options for all ages. Kiko Buerger, CEO of Grupo Oceanic

Part of a larger entertainment complex

Oceanic Park will be integrated into a larger entertainment complex that already houses the Oceanic Aquarium, and will also include cultural attractions, dining options, and a parking structure with approximately 400 spaces plus a bike facility. Construction is taking place on the aquarium’s parking lot, which remains fully open to visitors throughout.

The State Government aims to expand the relevance of tourism, and facilities like those of this group take the sector to another level. They sell happiness, fun, and dreams. I congratulate them on this new venture, which will further strengthen the city as a tourist destination. Catiane Seif, Santa Catarina Secretary of Tourism
Visionary people drive the city, the state, and the country. They create jobs, generate income, and move the economy. Grupo Oceanic does this very well. I am grateful they believe in the potential of our city, and we look forward to the opening next season. This facility will strengthen not only the city but the entire state. Juliana Pavan, Mayor of Balneário Camboriú

Grupo Oceanic’s six attractions in BC

The group already operates five attractions in the city. The Oceanic Aquarium houses 170 freshwater and saltwater species, with a glass walkway suspended over 300,000 liters of water. The Parque Aventura Jurássica features more than 100 life-size dinosaur replicas across immersive trails, with zip lines and fossil exhibitions. The Space Adventure holds the largest NASA collection outside the United States, complete with original mission artifacts and a 4K planetarium.

The Classic Car Show displays over 30 classic vehicles — including Ferraris, Rolls-Royces, and Cadillacs — alongside racing simulators and 3D cinema. Aventura Pirata delivers an interactive treasure-hunt experience with animatronics and a museum of original shipwreck artifacts.

Visitor Information

Attractions can be visited individually or through the Passaporte da Diversão (Fun Passport), a combined ticket valid for up to one year.

Free themed transportation connects all parks throughout the complex.
