The accommodation platform Trivago released its most popular Brazilian destinations for March, highlighting Curitiba and Foz do Iguaçu among the favorites for both domestic and international travelers. Their ranking reinforces Paraná’s emerging profile as a diverse and attractive tourist state.

Foz do Iguaçu, home to the world-famous Iguaçu Falls — one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World — stands among major landmarks like Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Gramado, and Maceió. In 2024, the city recorded over 5.8 million tourist visits, confirming its growing appeal.

Meanwhile, Curitiba gained visibility on Trivago’s spotlight list this March, appearing alongside destinations like Natal, Paraty, and Salvador. This interest reflects its sustainable urban development, modern infrastructure, and strategic promotional campaigns led by Paraná’s Tourism Department.

“Paraná has become a desirable destination all year round. Foz and Curitiba now share space with Brazil’s top landmarks,” said Leonaldo Paranhos, State Secretary of Tourism.

Additionally, Curitiba ranked third in Brazil’s Tourism Favorability Index (IFT-GKS) with 71.1 points, just behind Florianópolis and Vitória. The study evaluates social, economic, and environmental conditions that strengthen local tourism and investments.

According to Rodrigo Swinka, head of Curitiba’s Municipal Tourism Institute, the city’s progress is the result of solid planning: “The index turns data into strategic intelligence, guiding public decisions and building investor confidence.”
