Set against the Aegean Sea, a new contender is reshaping Mykonos’ luxury scene. Fouquet’s Mykonos debuts on June 27, 2026, marking Groupe Barrière’s first venture in Greece.
The timing is strategic. Wealthy Brazilian travelers are returning to Mediterranean destinations, driven by bespoke itineraries, multi-generational trips, and a growing appetite for curated experiences.
Located on Paraga Beach, the hotel moves away from flashy luxury. Instead, it embraces privacy, calm, and sensory-driven stays — a shift that reflects broader global trends.
Design meets landscape
The property features 61 suites and three private villas. Designed by Divercity Architects, it blends Cycladic minimalism with natural materials and uninterrupted sea views.
A standout feature is the indoor pool — rare for Mykonos — alongside a basketball court carved into rock, adding a distinctive edge to the experience.
The wellness offering is anchored by Dr. Barbara Sturm’s spa, while the beach club will be operated by ROKA, a globally recognized Japanese dining brand.
A shift in luxury travel
Groupe Barrière is targeting travelers who value discretion over display. Quiet luxury — understated, experience-led, and deeply personal — is gaining traction among affluent Brazilians.
“Mykonos naturally stood out for its blend of natural beauty, cultural relevance, and global appeal,” said CEO Grégory Rabuel.
The opening also strengthens Fouquet’s global footprint, joining locations in Paris, New York, Courchevel, and Saint Barth. In 2025, the group reported €1.5 billion in revenue.
More than a hotel launch, this signals a broader evolution: luxury is becoming quieter, more intentional, and deeply experiential.
