GOL will operate 1,571 flights and 279,000 seats to Rio during Labor Day, covering 60% of total demand and stimulating tourism.
The airline, Brazil’s market leader in Rio operations, announced a 21% increase in flights and seat availability between April 29 and May 5, 2026. The expansion meets the expected travel spike caused by the holiday and the major free concert on Copacabana Beach, set to attract thousands of visitors.
With this boost, GOL accounts for 60% of all available seats to and from Rio during the holiday period, adding 277 extra flights and 49,000 additional seats for domestic and international travelers.
The busiest routes include the classic air bridge between Congonhas and Santos Dumont, as well as flights from Vitória, Salvador, Recife, Fortaleza, Belo Horizonte, Florianópolis, and Buenos Aires. The RIOgaleão hub remains key, now strengthened with new flights from Asunción (ASU) and Uberlândia (UDI).
“We aim to offer more flights and seats, giving Customers greater options and convenience to travel,” says Bruno Balan, GOL’s Executive Network Manager.
The Brasília (BSB) hub also gains new frequencies to both RioGaleão (GIG) and Santos Dumont (SDU), strengthening the connection between the Central-West region and Rio during the long weekend.
