Starting September 16, 2026, GOL Airlines will fly nonstop between Rio de Janeiro and Lisbon 4 times a week, with a new business class and Michelin-starred dining.
GOL Linhas Aéreas opened ticket sales on Wednesday, March 18, for its nonstop service between Rio de Janeiro’s Tom Jobim International Airport – RIOgaleão (GIG) and Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) in Portugal. Flights begin on September 16, 2026, with four weekly roundtrip frequencies operated by the Airbus A330-900.
Schedule and Frequencies
From September 16 to October 24, 2026, outbound flights from RIOgaleão depart at 8:00 AM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, arriving in Lisbon at 9:40 PM. On Fridays, departure is at 8:05 AM, with landing at 9:45 PM. From October 25, 2026, through March 27, 2027, departures shift to 9:00 AM, still arriving in Lisbon at 9:40 PM.
Returning from Lisbon, flights depart at 11:30 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, landing in Rio at 5:30 AM the following morning. Friday’s flight departs five minutes later, at 11:35 PM, arriving at RIOgaleão at 5:35 AM Saturday.
INSIGNIA by GOL Business Class
GOL’s new long-haul experience comes through INSIGNIA by GOL, the carrier’s business class cabin. Highlights include priority check-in and boarding, access to GOL Smiles lounges and partner lounges in select destinations — including Lisbon —, a full flat bed seat, exclusive amenity kit, active noise-canceling headphones, and a 16-inch individual touchscreen entertainment system.
The culinary offering is a standout: a menu crafted by chef Felipe Bronze, a two-Michelin-star chef. Served in three courses — starter, main, and dessert — the menu celebrates Brazilian ingredients and traditions through Bronze’s contemporary and creative lens.
RIOgaleão as a New International Hub
The Lisbon route is part of GOL’s broader intercontinental expansion, backed by the addition of five Airbus A330-900 aircraft to its fleet. RIOgaleão is now the airline’s primary international hub. GOL also announced nonstop flights from Rio to New York starting July 8, 2026 (three times weekly), with Paris and Orlando routes to launch on dates still to be announced.
