Itapema will receive a floating Hard Rock, a 60-meter wheel and a yacht-inspired skyscraper beside the Rio Perequê.
The city of Itapema, in Santa Catarina, ranks second nationwide in real estate appreciation and is expanding along the Rio Perequê, in Meia Praia. The area now emerges as a new luxury and tourism hub supported by billion-real investments.
In the coming months, the region will gain the Píer Oporto, a complex that will house the world’s first floating Hard Rock Café and a 60-meter ferris wheel by the sea. Nearby, a 252-meter skyscraper inspired by a luxury yacht will rise, including a nautical garage for over 100 jets.
The Charles II Yacht Royal Home by OKEAN, developed by Gessele Empreendimentos, is inspired by the OKEAN 80 yacht. The building will be among the five tallest in Brazil and will offer a private garage for more than 100 jet skis and docking space for boats.
Standing 252 meters tall with a GSV exceeding R$ 600 million, the project includes units ranging from 217 m² to 221 m² and penthouses of 439 m². It will feature four leisure floors and a rooftop with an infinity pool and a 180-degree ocean view.
In line with Gessele Empreendimentos’ tradition of honoring royalty in its developments, the project name pays tribute to King Charles II, who revitalized the British Royal Navy and established the royal yacht tradition.
“When I bought the land a few years ago, that area was little explored despite its natural beauty, not even jet skis passed through the Rio Perequê channel. But I saw potential there. I could imagine boats navigating and docked in the region. I always believed that area would play an important role in the city’s future, especially because of its privileged location and direct connection to the ocean. I imagined it would one day become the ‘Barra Sul of Itapema’, a reference to the most coveted area of Balneário Camboriú, known for its marinas, luxury skyscrapers and high-standard infrastructure.”
“From that vision came the idea of creating a project unlike anything we had done and joining forces with OKEAN Yachts, a shipyard that shares our essence and pursuit of exclusivity, design and innovation. Seeing the project materialize and witnessing the region’s transformation, with major investments and the recognition I always envisioned, confirms that the potential was always there, waiting to be revealed.”
