From March 29 to April 4, Lapinha Spa blends spirituality, holistic health and nature in a week led by theologian Ed René Kivitz.
Lapinha Spa, one of Brazil’s leading holistic wellness retreats, is hosting its Spirituality Week featuring the special participation of spiritual mentor and theologian Ed René Kivitz. The week’s theme, “The Spiritual Path to Happiness,” invites guests on an inward journey that integrates body, mind and spirit within a setting of Atlantic Forest, silence and purpose.
Who Is Ed René Kivitz
Ed René Kivitz is a theologian, author and Baptist evangelical pastor with over 40 years of ministry. He has written widely read titles such as Talmidim: Following in the Footsteps of Jesus and Living with Purpose, and founded the Galilea Institute, an organization that promotes democracy, human rights and social justice in dialogue with evangelical churches across Brazil.
Expanding the Concept of Health
The retreat is built on the understanding that spirituality is as constitutive of human beings as reason and embodiment. At a time when mental health and physical wellness dominate public conversation, Lapinha offers a broader perspective — one that embraces the spiritual dimension as central to genuine quality of life.
Schedule and Experiences
Throughout the week, guests join conversations and guided experiences led by Kivitz on universal themes: the meaning of life, forgiveness and reconciliation, pain and suffering, love and affection, death and transcendence. The reflections draw from meditative and contemplative practices of the Christian tradition, creating a safe space for inner listening and reconnection with the sacred.

One of the week’s most meaningful moments takes place on Friday: participation in Vespers at the Trappist Monastery, an experience that deepens contact with essential spiritual values through contemplation, chant and monastic silence.
