Monte Verde’s Christmas in the Mountains brings 60 free attractions

Starting November 15, Monte Verde’s Christmas in the Mountains features 60 free attractions across 22 dates, with shows and parades until February 2026.

The town of Monte Verde (MG) is ready for Christmas in the Mountains 2025, opening on Saturday, November 15, under the theme “Advent, a time of hope.” The opening ceremony will feature a symbolic key handover to Santa Claus, performances by the Mas Por Quê? Theater Company, a concert by the Camanducaiense Viola Caipira Orchestra and Renato Teixeira, and the inauguration of the Christmas Village.

A festival that moves the city

With an investment of over R$ 3 million and an expected audience of 300,000 visitors, the event is supported by the Federal Culture Incentive Law (Pronac) and organized by MOVE (Monte Verde Development Agency) in partnership with the Municipality of Camanducaia, the Ministry of Tourism, SESC/SENAC, and the Ministry of Culture.

Running until February 1, 2026, the celebration offers 60 free attractions across 22 dates, including concerts, parades, and theatrical performances. Highlights include Tiago Iorc’s concert on November 29, the illuminated parade “Awakening of the Lights”, and the plays “Vila do Noel – Natal todo dia” and “A Luz de Clara” by the Mas Por Quê? Company.

Christmas Village and cultural experiences

The Christmas Village, designed by Carla Joner, will serve as the heart of the event, housing the Casa do Papai Noel Arteris and the “Origem em Minas” project by Sebrae Minas, featuring local crafts and regional products. Monte Verde, known as the “Destination that Embraces,” will shine with festive lights, a tunnel of bulbs, a themed carousel, and photo spots.

“We’re excited for another edition of Christmas in the Mountains, offering free cultural attractions in a magical atmosphere,” says Rebecca Wagner, president of MOVE.

According to Rodrigo Alves de Oliveira, mayor of Camanducaia, the event strengthens cultural identity and sustainable tourism. “We want each visitor to be enchanted and carry Monte Verde in their hearts,” he states.
