Colorado destination brings together Christmas and New Year celebrations with skiing, parties, dinners, and exclusive mountain experiences.
As the end of the year approaches, the holiday season invites everyone to celebrate with lights, decorations, seasonal dishes, and meaningful gatherings. In Aspen Snowmass, Colorado, this atmosphere gains a unique character with snow-covered mountains, winter sports, and a program that blends tradition, sophistication, and immersive experiences.
The season features events for all ages, skies lit by fireworks, joyful carols, and activities that turn each day into a celebration framed by pine trees and majestic mountain scenery.
Christmas Tree Lighting at The Little Nell
The Christmas Tree Lighting celebration at The Little Nell is a beloved community tradition held in partnership with the Aspen Animal Shelter and The Buddy Program. The event runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with the official lighting at 5:30 p.m., transforming the Wine Bar and Courtyard into a winter wonderland.
Guests can enjoy freshly baked cookies, hot chocolate, and warm apple cider prepared by the hotel’s pastry chefs. The Aspen High School choir performs holiday songs, and visitors can take photos with Santa Claus.
Wintersköl
The traditional Wintersköl festival is one of the most emblematic ways to open the season in Aspen Snowmass. First held in 1951, the event celebrates mountain life with a weekend of activities that connect locals and visitors.
From December 11 to 14, the program includes torchlight skiing on Aspen Mountain, live music at Wagner Park, SoupSköl™, bonfires, fireworks, and snow sculptures. Held across the four mountains — Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, and Snowmass — Wintersköl offers early-season skiing for all levels.

The arrival of 2026 will be marked by the tenth edition of the Dom Pérignon New Year’s Eve Party at The Little Nell, themed the Silver Solstice. The night features mystical experiences, refined delicacies, and a radiant midnight celebration under the alpine sky of Aspen.
The concept combines elegance, transformation, and intentional celebration in a gathering designed to be lived as a unique moment.
