The state of Paraíba, known for its cultural diversity and consolidated tourism routes, begins a new phase focused on Religious Tourism. The initiative organizes existing expressions of faith and connects them to the national market.

The strategy is supported by SEBRAE Paraíba, the State Government and PBTur, which work to structure faith-based tourism products with commercial potential.

The new route will be presented to the country

The Caminhos da Fé e Criatividade route brings together cities in the Brejo region and integrates spirituality, culture and creative tourism. The itinerary will be presented at the National Forum of Religious Tourism and is already drawing commercial interest.

Key faith destinations in Paraíba

Several sites already stand out as centers of devotion and help shape the state’s growing potential for religious tourism.

Frei Damião Memorial Sanctuary — Guarabira

The sanctuary houses a 34-meter statue and receives thousands of pilgrims during its annual procession. It also features a museum, chapel and devotional spaces.

Padre Ibiapina Memorial — Solânea

The site includes the missionary’s residence, museum and chapel. The February 19 celebration is consolidated and integrated into the official tourist calendar.

Rosário dos Pretos Church — Pombal

One of the oldest churches in the state, with over 300 years of history, it preserves Afro-Brazilian religious tradition and cultural memory.

Cruz da Menina — Patos

The sanctuary marks the site of Benigna Cardoso’s martyrdom and attracts ongoing pilgrimages and devotional practices.

Religious Historic Center of João Pessoa

The area includes temples such as São Francisco, Basílica das Neves and São Bento. Despite its importance, it remains primarily explored as cultural heritage.

God the Father Almighty Sanctuary — Malta

Located in Serra de Furnas, the sanctuary has a vast structure with neo-Gothic inspiration. Its opening attracted thousands of pilgrims and boosted regional tourism.

Crescer strengthens faith in Campina Grande

The event takes place during Carnival and includes devotional activities and family-oriented programming. It has become a reference for Catholic identity in the state.

National presence reinforces the state’s strategy

The participation in the National Forum of Religious Tourism advances Paraíba’s integration into the faith-travel market and supports the development of structured religious routes.
