With beaches and the largest water park in Northern Brazil, Salinópolis stands out for COP30 visitors in Belém.
The COP30, taking place from November 10 to 21, 2025, in Belém (PA), will place Pará at the center of global discussions on climate and sustainability. With around 40,000 participants expected, the event also highlights the state’s main tourist destinations. Among them, Salinópolis — or simply Salinas — emerges as one of the most charming options.
Natural beauty and sustainable tourism
Located 220 km from Belém, Salinópolis is a seaside retreat surrounded by dunes, mangroves and paradise islands. Its white-sand beaches and warm waters create the perfect setting for relaxation and connection with nature. As the gateway to the Atlantic Amazon, the city represents a balance between tourism, culture and environmental preservation — key themes of COP30.
Aqualand Park & Resort: leisure and sustainability
Among the lodging options, the Aqualand Park & Resort stands out. Combining a water park and a resort in one space, it was awarded the Travellers’ Choice 2025 by Tripadvisor, placing it among the top 10% of hotels worldwide. With a capacity for up to 5,000 visitors per day, Aqualand is the largest water park in Northern Brazil.
The complex features over 20 attractions, including Enseada de Netuno — one of the largest wave pools in Latin America — and Aqua Kids, a 12-meter-high aquatic playground with a 3,000-liter tipping bucket. It also offers restaurants, rest areas and culinary experiences that highlight Pará’s regional flavors.
The Aqualand Resort includes 364 rooms, a cinema, spa, hot tub, game room, pet area and leisure spaces, ensuring comfort and convenience for families and groups.
Beyond the park: culture and hospitality
Visitors to Salinópolis can explore iconic attractions such as Atalaia Beach, ideal for water sports; Lago da Coca-Cola, a freshwater oasis among dunes; and the Salinópolis Dunes, offering panoramic views of the Atlantic Amazon. For a quiet atmosphere, Farol Velho Beach is perfect, while Maçarico is known for nightlife and local cuisine.
With the visibility brought by COP30, Salinópolis and the Aqualand Park & Resort have become symbols of sustainable tourism in Northern Brazil — combining leisure, environmental preservation and the appreciation of local communities.
