Shakira’s confirmed megashow on May 2 in Copacabana is already driving reservations to capacity across Windsor Hotels’ 15 Rio properties.
Rio de Janeiro’s City Hall has officially confirmed Shakira as the headline act for Todo Mundo no Rio (“Everyone in Rio”), a massive free concert on Copacabana Beach set for the first Saturday of May — a long holiday weekend marking Labor Day. The Colombian pop icon, named the greatest Latin pop artist of all time by Billboard, holds 4 Grammy Awards, 15 Latin Grammys, and boasts 35 years of global cultural impact.
The announcement is already translating into a surge of bookings at Windsor Hotels properties across Rio, particularly in Copacabana. Commercial manager Bianca Rodrigues expects the momentum to accelerate quickly.
“With the official announcement from City Hall, we expect reservations to spike dramatically in the coming days and reach 100% occupancy — we’re talking about one of the most recognized icons in global pop music. 2026 will be another incredible year for Windsor Hotels and for tourism, following the same path as 2025, when we saw high occupancy all year long, with major events like the Lady Gaga concert, New Year’s Eve, and more. There’s no doubt the city will be the destination for visitors from Brazil and around the world for this event.” — Bianca Rodrigues, Commercial Manager, Windsor Hotels
Guests are expected to arrive days early to soak up everything Rio has to offer. Following a Carnival season that pushed Windsor Hotels to near 100% occupancy across all 15 Rio properties, the group is betting on a vibrant season that cements Rio de Janeiro as one of Brazil’s top tourist destinations.
“We’re thrilled about the prospect of welcoming thousands of tourists during this May holiday. The combination of Shakira’s concert with Rio’s beauty and attractions creates the perfect backdrop for unforgettable experiences. Our hotels offer the comfort and convenience visitors need to make the most of every moment.” — Vitor Almeida, Marketing Manager, Windsor Hotels

In the South Zone, the five-star Miramar by Windsor stands directly across from Copacabana Beach, catering largely to international guests with butler service and the Italian restaurant Alloro al Miramar. The Windsor California features 157 rooms, a rooftop pool with panoramic ocean views, and personalized check-in at individual desks — ideal for leisure, corporate, and small-group stays.
The Windsor Leme is a perennial favorite among Brazilian and international travelers, offering spacious rooms and one of the best views of the Copacabana and Leme waterfront. A recent retrofit refreshed the property’s rooms, façade, lobby, event spaces, and its newly revitalized presidential suite spanning 68m². The Windsor Excelsior, Windsor Martinique, Windsor Copa, and Windsor Palace round out the beachside options.
In Flamengo, the Windsor Florida delivers strong value for money. Downtown, the Windsor Guanabara and Windsor Asturias are ideal for guests who want easy access to tourist attractions and Santos Dumont Airport.
