North Coast of São Paulo offers beaches, nature and culture for the November 20 holiday.
The last long holiday before Christmas is approaching, and the North Coast of São Paulo stands out as an ideal destination for those who want to welcome the summer atmosphere early. With pleasant temperatures and still outside high season, the November 20 holiday is perfect for exploring Bertioga, Caraguatatuba, Ilhabela, São Sebastião and Ubatuba.
The region, located just over 100 kilometers from São Paulo’s capital, combines easy access, solid infrastructure and experiences beyond beaches. With more than 200 kilometers of coastline, it offers quiet stretches for families and lively spots for water sports enthusiasts.
“The North Coast of São Paulo increasingly consolidates itself as a complete destination, uniting preserved nature, vibrant culture and hospitality. Each of the five cities has its own identity and attractions, but regional unity makes the territory rich and diverse. Starting summer here means experiencing the best of São Paulo’s tourism with sea, mountains, gastronomy and culture in harmony,” says Toninho Colucci, president of the Circuito Litoral Norte.
Beyond sun and sea
The North Coast offers authentic experiences in nature and caiçara culture. The preserved Atlantic Forest includes trails, waterfalls and observation points. Highlights include the Seven Beaches Trail in Ubatuba; Barra do Una and Ribeirão de Itu Trail in São Sebastião; Serra do Mar State Park in Bertioga; and the Ilha das Cabras Ecological Sanctuary in Ilhabela.
Natural diversity also shapes nautical experiences. The region gathers marinas, piers and companies offering boat tours, diving and visits to islands and fishing villages, such as Alcatrazes in São Sebastião and Castelhanos in Ilhabela. In Caraguatatuba, the Juqueriquerê River tour offers a peaceful immersion among mangroves.
Culture, history and gastronomy
The cities of the tourism consortium preserve historical treasures and caiçara traditions. Forte São João in Bertioga, Quilombo da Fazenda in Ubatuba and Engenho D’Água Estate in Ilhabela connect past and present. Cultural spaces such as Polo Cultural Prof. Adaly Coelho Passos in Caraguatatuba and Casa Esperança in São Sebastião reinforce regional identity.
Local gastronomy highlights fresh regional ingredients such as seafood, fish, banana and cassava. Seafront restaurants and marine farms emphasize sustainability and authenticity, offering a full immersion in the flavors of the São Paulo coast.
Perfect for every type of traveler
Between the sea and the mountains, the North Coast suits families, couples and groups of friends. Accommodation ranges from charming inns to full-service resorts, ensuring comfort and a variety of experiences during the holiday.
