Bondinho Park offers four days of Carnival programming with percussion workshops, samba classes with Djeff and Leila, and children’s activities from February 14 to 17.
The Sugar Loaf Cable Car Park joins the festive spirit with a special Carnival program from February 14 to 17. The free schedule includes samba classes, caipirinha workshops, musical performances and children’s activities atop Rio de Janeiro.
On the 14th, the Jardim dos Discos (Disc Garden) welcomes dancers Djeff and Leila for a special samba class at two times: 11 AM and 2 PM. The experience promises to teach the classic steps of the most iconic rhythm of Rio’s Carnival.
On Saturday, February 15, in partnership with Embaixada Carioca, a caipirinha workshop takes place at the same venue. The experience is limited to 20 people and requires advance registration.
Sunday, the 16th, will feature a performance by MandacaBloco at the Urca Hill Amphitheater, bringing the sound of street blocos to Rio’s iconic landmark.
Closing the program, on the 17th, visitors can participate in a percussion workshop at the Amphitheater from noon to 2 PM, learning the fundamentals of the instruments that drive samba school rhythms.
Children’s programming
Children also take center stage in the program. During all four days of Carnival, from 10 AM to 5 PM, the Jardim dos Discos offers mask-making workshops, face painting and a beauty station with Carnival accessories.
