TAP increases Lisbon links to Salvador and Rio from February to March, adding extra flights for Summer peak travel and Carnival.
For Brazil’s Summer peak and Carnival season, TAP Air Portugal is strengthening its operations and boosting connectivity with Europe. The plan expands capacity on services to Salvador (Bahia) and Rio de Janeiro (Rio de Janeiro state), periods typically marked by high demand.
Special schedule for Salvador
In Salvador, TAP scheduled additional flights from February 3 through March 28. The move targets the spike in travel during Carnival and the height of Bahia’s summer season.
Extra flights are planned for February 3 (Tuesday), 7 (Saturday), 10 (Tuesday), 24 (Tuesday) and 28 (Saturday), increasing options on the Salvador–Lisbon route.
In addition, in March through the 28th, TAP will operate one more weekly flight on top of the existing daily service. With the change, Salvador moves from seven to eight weekly frequencies.
One more Lisbon–Rio flight
In Rio de Janeiro, TAP will add an extra flight between February 14 and March 24 on its Lisbon route. During Carnival week, the flight will operate on Saturday, February 14; in the following weeks, it will run on Tuesdays.
Over the period, Lisbon–Rio service increases from 12 to 13 flights per week. The city also remains served by two direct weekly frequencies connecting Rio and Porto.
The capacity boost aligns with Carnival, when international visitors arrive for Brazil’s celebrations and domestic travelers connect to Europe via Lisbon. With the added flights, TAP reinforces its role as an air bridge between Brazil and Europe.
