Travelers with layovers over 20 hours can enjoy free accommodation and explore Istanbul before their next flight.
How about turning a long layover into a mini getaway? Turkish Airlines, recognized by the Guinness World Record as the airline that flies to the most countries, invites passengers to explore Istanbul through its Stopover program.
Here’s how it works: passengers with a layover of at least 20 hours and up to seven days can apply for free accommodation by sending their full name, booking number, and ticket details to Turkish Airlines at least 72 hours before departure. Once approved, the airline arranges the hotel stay.
Economy Class passengers receive one night in a 4-star hotel, while those in Business Class enjoy up to two nights in a boutique or 5-star hotel. It’s an opportunity to turn waiting time into a memorable experience.
During the stay, travelers can visit iconic landmarks such as the Topkapı Palace, the Grand Bazaar, the Blue Mosque, and take cruises along the Bosphorus Strait. The program is available to passengers departing from select countries, including Brazil, with connections in Istanbul before heading to Asia, Europe, or the Middle East.
From Brazil, Turkish Airlines operates daily flights between São Paulo (GRU) and Istanbul, connecting travelers to over 350 destinations in 132 countries — the world’s largest international network.
