Honored across Brazil’s coastline, Yemanjá is revered in Afro-Brazilian religions as the Queen of the Sea. The date brings together rituals and cultural expressions tied to faith, protection, fertility, and a deep connection to nature.

What’s happening on February 2

Set in southern Bahia, Txai Resort Itacaré has designed a guest-only program that blends hospitality, gastronomy, music, and cultural experiences inspired by the symbolism of February 2.

The day’s highlight is a symbolic procession starting at 3:00 pm, when baskets of offerings and flowers are taken to the sea. The gesture represents gratitude, renewal, and a moment of connection with Yemanjá, honoring the traditions associated with the waters.

Sunset dinner and samba de roda

The culinary experience features a special menu with elements and sides that echo the celebration’s meaning. A seaside welcome begins the evening and continues after the procession.

Dinner is served at sunset from 7:30 pm, accompanied by samba de roda from Samba de Ayé, bringing a distinctly Bahian rhythm to the night.

Relais & Châteaux on the Cocoa Coast

Certified by Relais & Châteaux, Txai pairs hospitality, gastronomy, leisure, and well-being within 92 hectares of Atlantic Forest. The resort sits in an environmental protection area and along a route known for whale and dolphin passages in southern Bahia.

Surrounded by coconut trees and clear waters, the rustic architectural concept was created to showcase the Cocoa Coast landscape. The property offers 38 bungalows across seven categories, set along 3 km of secluded beach with a focus on comfort and privacy.
