The Windsor Hotels Group anticipates one of its most successful New Year’s seasons, projecting 100% occupancy across its 15 hotels in Rio de Janeiro and 70% in Brasília. The results reflect a continuously growing hospitality market and solidify positive expectations for the high season.

According to a HotéisRIO survey, average hotel occupancy in Rio has reached 71.79%, led by Copacabana/Leme (84.38%), followed by Ipanema/Leblon (75.34%) and Barra/Recreio (72.94%).

Longer stays and rising revenue

Windsor data show that the average stay increased from 2.78 to 3.42 days, up 23%, which should lead to a revenue rise of 8% to 11% during the New Year season. From 2024 to 2025, growth was 11%, with an additional 7% expected in 2026.

Early bookings up by 40 days

The average booking window rose from 77 to 117 days, showing higher demand. “Guests are planning better and securing stays earlier, which shows confidence in Rio as a destination and in our service quality,” says Bianca Rodrigues, Windsor’s sales manager.

International tourism leads bookings

According to Embratur, international tourism should rise by 12% in summer 2026, following a record-breaking 2025 when Brazil welcomed 8.39 million foreign visitors. For New Year’s Eve, 52.88% of Windsor’s bookings come from foreign travelers versus 47.12% from domestic guests — a 12.29% growth from last year.

Top source markets include Argentina, the United States, Chile, England, France, Germany, Italy, Colombia, Uruguay, and Paraguay. Among Brazilians, most bookings come from São Paulo, Minas Gerais, the Federal District, Rio Grande do Sul, and Paraná.

Luxury New Year’s experiences

In Copacabana, Barra, and other South Zone areas, Windsor hotels will offer New Year’s dinners and events from 9 PM to 2 AM, featuring signature menus, live music, and themed décor. Reservations are available exclusively via www.windsortickets.com.br.

“Our New Year’s Eve celebrations have become a tradition in both Rio and Brasília. We’re excited to welcome 2026 alongside our guests, creating unforgettable moments,” said Vitor Almeida, Windsor Hotels Marketing Manager.

Outlook for 2026

The start of 2026 should remain strong, driven by major events such as the Carnival and Rock in Rio. The Windsor Hotels Group forecasts 8% to 12% revenue growth early in the year. “The outlook is highly positive, and we’re ready to seize new opportunities,” concludes Bianca Rodrigues.
