O Grande Encontro – Música dos Gaúchos returns this Saturday (Jan 24), 8 pm, with 13 acts and a free show on Tramandaí’s oceanfront. The 2026 season kickoff takes over Avenida Beira-Mar, next to the “Eu Amo Tramandaí” sign, turning the shoreline into a stage for gaucho music. The entire performance will feature Libras (Brazilian Sign Language) interpretation.
A long-running celebration in Rio Grande do Sul
Created in 2013 by Ayrton Patineti dos Anjos, O Grande Encontro has become one of the most respected projects in Rio Grande do Sul’s regional music scene. Its mission is to spotlight the most authentic expressions of gaucho songwriting, bringing generations together and pairing established stars with essential voices of the tradition.Over the years, the project has reached 19 performances across the state, consistently drawing large crowds and cultural buzz. For Tramandaí, the opening night promises classics, well-loved collaborations, and first-time onstage pairings.
13 artists, one shared stage
The lineup features César Oliveira e Rogério Melo, Neto Fagundes, Joca Martins, Shana Müller, Ernesto Fagundes, Daniel Torres, Loma Pereira, Mauro Moraes, Érlon Péricles, Rock de Galpão, Pirisca Grecco, Luiza Barbosa, and Ricardo Bergha. The show highlights the breadth of voices that shape gaucho culture today.
House band keeps the show seamless
As in previous editions, a house band will back all 13 acts and connect the night’s segments with quick transitions. The band includes Paulinho Goulart, Guilherme Castilhos, Guilherme Goulart, Gustavo Brodinho, Ariane Wink, Bruno Coelho, and Rafael Bisogno, underscoring the project’s collective spirit and technical polish.
Recent tour and local impact
Last year, the project staged the tour Reconstruindo o Rio Grande, made possible through Banrisul’s Reconstruir RS public call. The run included eight shows: one in Porto Alegre in 2024, plus seven cities in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul in 2025, reaching audiences in squares, theaters, and major event venues. The year closed with a major celebration at Auditório Araújo Vianna, in Porto Alegre. Beyond its artistic value, O Grande Encontro also boosts the creative economy, energizing tourism, retail, hospitality, and services in each host city. The Tramandaí concert launches the 2026 season, with more dates expected in the coming months as the project expands its reach and keeps access free and wide.
