Jardim Botânico restaurant unveils ten cocktails inspired by Brazilian coast and artisanal dessert spread on weekends, featuring vegan and sugar-free options.Rubaiyat Rio de Janeiro has just launched two seasonal offerings: a bar menu with ten signature cocktails celebrating Brazilian summer and an artisanal dessert buffet served on Saturdays and Sundays. The creations complement the restaurant’s privileged view of Jardim Botânico and the city’s laid-back atmosphere.
Brazilian essence in every sip
The cocktails draw inspiration from a maritime journey along Brazil’s coastline. The concept combines citrus, aromatic, and refreshing profiles in recipes that explore flavor layers and varying intensities.Highlights include Talismã (amburana-aged cachaça, honey, lime, and tonic), refreshing with woody notes; Rosa dos Ventos (gin and Licor 43 with Sicilian lemon, red berries, and tonic), citrusy and floral; and Mar Aberto (cachaça, sparkling wine, cilantro, lime, and simple syrup), light and effervescent.Tropicaliente features pisco with tangerine, passion fruit, and a hint of jalapeño, while Erva-Malte blends whiskey, bitters, and mate tea in a dry, herbal version. The menu also presents reimagined caipirinhas. Ancoradouro contains house cachaça, clove lime macerated with ginger compote, raw sugar, and sugarcane molasses. Veraneio combines cachaça, tangerine, and passion fruit, while Cajueiro mixes cachaça with cashew compote, lime, and cashew juice. For those preferring non-alcoholic options, two mocktails complete the experience: Terra à Vista (lemongrass, lime, green apple syrup, and sparkling water) and Coral Rubi (fermented pitaya, lime foam, and tonic).
Sweeter weekends
On Saturdays and Sundays, the dessert buffet showcases artisanal creations prepared by the house pastry chefs. Priced at R$ 58 per person, the buffet combines traditional Brazilian sweets like pumpkin preserve, coconut candy, dulce de leche with plum, and guava paste with classics such as flan, quindim, blancmange, mille-feuille, tarte tatin, Basque cheesecake, brigadeiro cake, and fruit salad. The offering includes vegan desserts and sugar-free options. Recent creations feature dulce de leche pavé, paçoca brigadeiro, fig tart, and Chocolate Caramel Pecan Torte, plus vegan tropical parfait, chocolate mousse, and sugar-free strawberry tart. The experience also includes an artisanal ice cream station with three rotating flavors made in-house with natural ingredients and no preservatives. Ice creams come with toppings like cocoa crumble, Brazil nut crumble, chocolate and raspberry sauces, and biju.SERVICE – Rubaiyat Rio de JaneiroAddress: Rua Jardim Botânico, 971, Jardim Botânico.Hours: Monday and Tuesday, 12pm to 10pm; Wednesday to Saturday, 12pm to 11pm; Sunday, 12pm to 6pm.Reservations: https://gruporubaiyat.com/reservas-3/Photo: Courtesy/Marcus Fabrinni
