Foo Fighters drop new single and set April album date

“Your Favorite Toy,” the Foo Fighters’ first new music of 2026, is out now — and their 12th studio album arrives April 24 via Sony Music.

An earworm with a sharp new edge

The Foo Fighters have released “Your Favorite Toy”, the title track of their highly anticipated 12th studio album. It’s the band’s first new music in 2026, and it arrives with a distinct sonic identity: jagged guitar shards, brooding keyboard stabs, and a relentless rhythmic pulse anchor an instantly addictive track. The real surprise is Dave Grohl‘s voice. He delivers a sardonic new vocal tone across infectious choruses — something that feels both unmistakably Foo Fighters and unlike anything in their catalog to date.

“‘Your Favorite Toy’ really was the key that unlocked the tone and energetic direction of the new album. We arrived at it after experimenting with different sounds and dynamics for over a year, and the day it took shape I knew we had to follow its lead. It was the spark that lit the powder keg of songs we ended up recording for this record. It feels like something new.” — Dave Grohl
