The iconic Brazilian theme park unveils its biggest transformation in 35 years: ten multisensory rooms take visitors on a guided journey through industrial history.
Mundo a Vapor Park, located in Canela, in Brazil’s southern highlands of Serra Gaúcha, reopens to the public this Saturday, April 11, with a landmark reinvention. Ten new immersive rooms reframe the visitor experience as a 50-minute dramaturgical journey through time, blending art, technology and industrial memory under the guidance of a time traveler character.
On Friday evening, April 10, an exclusive ceremony for invited guests from 8 p.m. previewed the new installations. Official sponsors included ticketing platform Parksnet, Hard Rock Café Gramado, Vinícola Jolimont and Coca-Cola.
A story told room by room
The experience begins at the Room of Time and continues in a fixed sequence through Pre-Show, Workshop, Pottery, Electric Space, Steel Mill, Paper Factory, Farm and Sawmill, ending at the Grand Finale. Groups are kept small to preserve the atmosphere. The same route shown to guests at the private event is available to the general public starting Saturday.
The choice of themes drew from the park’s established attractions, but aimed to close a coherent arc of experience, connecting technology, industry and everyday life. Each room combines multiple sensory layers — scenic lighting, sound design, aromas and technology — creating an atmosphere that goes beyond contemplation.

Four years, 200-plus professionals
The project began in 2022, with construction spanning two years. CMO Caren Urbani notes that more than 200 professionals were involved directly or indirectly — including screenwriters, set designers, engineers, artists and special effects specialists. All content was created by a local team, though the creative crew made technical visits to reference theme parks in Orlando, Florida, to gather operational and technological insights incorporated into the project.
Three decades of legacy, one new chapter
The park was originally conceived by brothers Omar and Benito Urbani over three decades ago. This reopening also kicks off celebrations for the park’s 35th anniversary. The completed renovation expands the total area to 3,544 square meters, with capacity for up to 4,500 visitors per day. All rooms and the entire park are fully accessible.
