After eight years away, The Rasmus confirms São Paulo show, blending nostalgia with a bold new era in alternative rock.
The wait is finally over. The Rasmus is heading back to Brazil, bringing more than just memories from the 2000s. The Finnish band will perform on October 31 at Carioca Club in São Paulo as part of the “WEIRDO TOUR”.
This Latin American run includes stops across Central and South America, but the Brazilian date carries a distinct emotional weight. Over the years, the band built a strong connection with local fans, making this return especially meaningful.
Classic hits meet new identity
The setlist is expected to bridge eras. Iconic tracks like “In The Shadows” and “First Day Of My Life” will likely share space with songs from “WEIRDO”, the band’s latest studio album.
The new record marks a creative statement. Blending alternative rock with dark pop textures and modern production, it expands the band’s sound without losing its emotional core.
“It’s about embracing those who feel different and being proud of it,” says Lauri Ylönen.
According to the singer, the album reconnects with themes that have been present since the band’s earliest days — now revisited with more clarity and intention.
A band still evolving
Formed in 1994 in Helsinki, The Rasmus rose to global fame with “Dead Letters” (2003). Driven by the hit “In The Shadows”, the album became a defining moment for early-2000s rock.
Since then, the band has continuously evolved, experimenting with electronic elements and cinematic textures while maintaining its signature intensity.
Now, they return to Brazil during a particularly strong phase, following international tours alongside acts like The Hu and Apocalyptica.
