A crowd of 100,000 filled the streets of Belo Horizonte on Monday (16) as Brazilian pop star Luísa Sonza headlined the iconic Bloco dos Gêmeos in one of the most electrifying performances of the 2026 carnival season.
Leading the electric float from start to finish, Luísa Sonza delivered a high-energy set packed with hit songs sung in unison by the massive crowd. The collective atmosphere that defines Bloco dos Gêmeos amplified the connection between artist and audience at every turn of the route.
One of BH Carnival’s biggest nights
Bloco dos Gêmeos is one of the most storied street carnival blocks in Minas Gerais, and the 2026 edition lived up to its reputation. Organizers estimated attendance at around 100,000 revelers, placing the event among the largest street carnival gatherings in Brazil this year.
The packed streets of Belo Horizonte underscored the city’s standing as one of Brazil’s most vibrant and diverse carnival destinations — a scene that continues to rival the celebrations in Rio and Salvador.
A carnival run wrapped up in style
The Belo Horizonte appearance cemented Luísa Sonza‘s presence across Brazil’s major street carnival circuit in 2026. Her carnival marathon wrapped up on February 17 with the Bloco Chapado, also held in Minas Gerais.
