HBO has released the official trailer for the third season of House of the Dragon, offering an early look at the next chapter in the Targaryen dynasty’s internal struggle for power. The new season premieres on June 21 at 10 PM (BRT equivalent) on HBO and HBO Max.
The season will consist of eight episodes, rolling out weekly until its finale on August 9. The format continues the weekly release strategy that has defined the series so far.

A pivotal chapter in Targaryen history
Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series is set 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones.” It explores a defining era for House Targaryen, shaped by political intrigue and internal conflict.
Season three is expected to deepen these storylines, expanding the consequences of alliances and rivalries already set in motion.
Returning cast ensemble
The new season brings back a strong ensemble, including Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, and Tom Glynn-Carney.
Additional cast members include Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, Matthew Needham, Tom Bennett, Kieran Bew, Kurt Egyiawan, Freddie Fox, Clinton Liberty, Gayle Rankin, and Abubakar Salim.
Creative team continues
Directors Clare Kilner, Nina Lopez-Corrado, Andrij Parekh, and Loni Peristere lead the new season. Ryan Condal remains as co-creator, showrunner, and executive producer.
George R.R. Martin continues as co-creator and executive producer, alongside Sara Hess, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Vince Gerardis, David Hancock, and Philippa Goslett.
