Tickets from R$10 and VIP UCI DE LUX showings for R$20: UCI joins Cinema Week Feb 5–11, with snack combos starting at R$30.
From February 5 to 11, UCI takes part in Brazil’s Cinema Week, a nationwide campaign that cuts prices — and includes premium formats like IMAX and XPLUS. The initiative, created by FENEEC with support from ABRAPLEX, Ingresso.com and Grupo Consciência, reaches its 8th edition after drawing more than 23 million moviegoers across the country.
At UCI, screenings starting by 4:59 p.m. cost R$10. From 5 p.m. onward, tickets are R$12. In VIP UCI DE LUX auditoriums, the promotional price is R$20 at any time during the campaign window.
UCI is also rolling out discounted concession deals. A combo with a medium salted popcorn plus two \(500\) ml soft drinks costs R$30. The chain’s “fan-favorite” combo — chocolate popcorn and one \(700\) ml soft drink — costs R$50 and is valid for DE LUX sessions as well as standard screens.
Oscar contenders and buzz titles
Cinema Week’s lineup mixes new releases, recent hits and crowd-pleasers — including 2026 Oscar nominees. One of the highlights is “O Agente Secreto,” directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho, nominated in four categories: Best Picture, Best International Feature, Best Ensemble and Best Actor.
According to the release, “O Agente Secreto” won two Golden Globes: Best Non-English Language Film and Best Actor in a Drama Motion Picture. In the acting race, Wagner Moura faces Timothée Chalamet, who won a Golden Globe for “Marty Supreme” (directed by Josh Safdie). The film is competing for nine Oscars overall.
Also on the slate is “Avatar: Fogo e Cinzas,” James Cameron’s latest entry in the franchise, nominated in two Oscar categories. UCI will screen it in IMAX and XPLUS, leaning into the immersive formats — and its position as Brazil’s leading IMAX exhibitor, with six IMAX locations nationwide.
What IMAX, XPLUS and DE LUX add
The promotion covers multiple formats. In XPLUS auditoriums, UCI highlights Dolby Atmos for a 3D-style sound field designed to surround the audience. In VIP UCI DE LUX, the pitch is comfort and exclusivity at a lower price: leather chaise longue seats with electronic recline, individual tables, a premium menu and enhanced service — with tickets at R$20 throughout Cinema Week.
Brazilian films are part of the lineup too, including “Descontrole,” starring Carolina Dieckmann, and “Justiça Artificial,” a near-future thriller in which a detective played by Chris Pratt has 90 minutes to prove his innocence in a justice system run by AI.
Other titles cited include “A Empregada,” which has surpassed 1.9 million admissions, plus “Zootopia 2,” “Socorro,” “Destruição Final 2” and “Última Ceia,” among others.
Campaign aims to beat last edition
FENEEC president Lúcio Otoni says Cinema Week’s momentum shows the strength of Brazil’s film market and its impact on the economy, noting movie theaters generate more than 27,000 direct jobs. Organizers are aiming to top the last edition, held in August 2025, when over 3.4 million tickets were sold.
Mauro Gonzalez, Business Director at Ingresso.com, says interest in Brazilian cinema has become consistent, and frames the week as a chance to deliver an easy, fast and secure ticket-buying experience. ABRAPLEX president Marcos Barros underscores access to culture and notes the campaign has nationwide participation from exhibitors.
