AquaRio keeps an extended schedule for summer and hosts Tio Alex workshops and games for families on January 24–25.
AquaRio boosts its summer break lineup
During Rio de Janeiro’s peak season, AquaRio expands operations and leans into family-friendly programming. The goal is to welcome higher visitor volumes while delivering a fuller experience in indoor, air-conditioned spaces.
Tio Alex recreation: hands-on workshops
On January 24 and 25, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm, visitors can join activities led by Tio Alex. The workshops encourage creativity and a playful approach to sustainability.
The program features easel painting, modeling clay, recycled-toy play, and a Bobbie Goods workshop. That way, families can mix aquarium time with kid-focused breaks throughout the visit.

What to expect inside AquaRio
Beyond the special activities, guests can explore AquaRio’s permanent route, home to around 10,000 animals from roughly 350 species. The immersive, climate-controlled environments help keep the experience comfortable during the hottest days.
Highlights include the Great Ocean Tank, with underwater tunnels, and the Kingdom of Axolotls. Interactive areas and touch spaces add extra engagement for both kids and adults.

The complex also offers add-on experiences such as the Wax Museum, the Sea of Mirrors, and Globo Experience. As a result, visitors can extend their stay and tailor the day to their group’s pace.
