After a successful 2025, Renato Turnes’ “Homens Pink” returns with accessible performances in Florianópolis and São José on February 27 and 28.
Closing its tour across Santa Catarina, the play “Homens Pink”, produced by Cia La Vaca, will be staged at Teatro Álvaro de Carvalho (Florianópolis) and Teatro Adolpho Melo (São José). Both sessions start at 8 p.m., with free admission and interpretation in Libras (Brazilian Sign Language).
Written and performed by Renato Turnes, this monologue explores the LGBT+ experience through humor and tenderness, blending the artist’s memories with stories from nine elderly gay men. The result is a poetic and emotional journey through childhood, sexuality, the AIDS epidemic, and the resilience of earlier generations.
“Homens Pink” fuses documentary theater and emotion to safeguard erased memories.
The 50-minute performance was Santa Catarina’s only official entry at the 2025 Curitiba Theater Festival and has also toured São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. It is supported by the Santa Catarina Cultural Incentive Program (PIC) and sponsored by Hidroluna Saneamento.
