On April 8, Rodrigo Bragança turns Teatro Alfredo Mesquita into a free multisensory performance where improvisation shapes every moment.
What happens when a guitarist, a dancer, a video artist, a violinist, and a drummer share a stage with no fixed script? The answer unfolds every time In_Ventos performs. On Wednesday, April 8, at 8 PM, the show arrives at Teatro Alfredo Mesquita in São Paulo — free of charge — and invites audiences into an experience where sound, image, and movement are built in real time.
Rodrigo Bragança and the stage as a laboratory
Rodrigo Bragança is the creative anchor of the project. A composer and guitarist with a distinguished career in contemporary Brazilian music, he shapes the sonic experience using guitar, bass, electronics, samples, and theremin — the haunting instrument played without physical touch, through the movement of hands in the air. That choice says everything about In_Ventos: gesture and sound are inseparable here.
Bragança co-founded the group Mandu Sarará, which featured Hermeto Pascoal, Proveta, and Danilo Caymmi. His band O Grito was named by Guitar Player magazine as part of “one of the most innovative rock groups of the moment” in 2006. As a solo artist, he has released albums exploring the timbral possibilities of the electric guitar. He also teaches graduate courses in composition and music production at Faculdade Santa Marcelina.
A cast in constant conversation
Craca Beat creates immersive projections that don’t simply illustrate the music — they respond to it, reshaping the visual environment in real time. Performer Samira Marana uses her body not as decoration, but as a full instrument: her movement provokes, resists, and reimagines what the music proposes.
Violinist Mica Marcondes and drummer Priscila Brigante complete the lineup, adding rhythmic intensity and expanding the show’s expressive range. The result is a web where music shapes gesture, gesture shifts atmosphere, and image rewires listening.
Music shapes gesture; gesture shifts atmosphere; image rewires listening. Each performance is unique, built in the moment.
Eight years of collective creation
Launched in 2018 as an online series of collaborative encounters, In_Ventos brought together musicians, poets, dancers, and visual artists to co-create original works. In 2019, it expanded to live stages. During the pandemic, it produced the online series Processos Criativos, interviewing 12 composers about their creative methods.
Over the years, the project has gathered artists including Antônio Nóbrega, Marcelo Segreto, Marcelo Pretto, Benjamin Taubkin, and Ari Colares. The current edition is supported by the 8th Edition of the Music Support Grant for the City of São Paulo, issued by the Municipal Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy.
After the performance, the artists invite the audience to join a talk on creative processes and contemporary experimentation — confirming that In_Ventos is as much a space for dialogue as it is for performance.
