Dendê Macêdo transforms discarded objects into instruments and presents Sons Reciclados at Audio Rebel on February 19-20, with free public workshop.
The second edition of Programação Continuada Funarte 2025 takes over the Botafogo venue with a proposal that breaks conventional formats. On stage, repurposed materials gain sonic life through percussion, improvisation and experimental textures. The performance happens on the 19th at 9pm, after doors open at 8pm.
The show by Dendê Macêdo and the Sons Reciclados project transforms Audio Rebel into a live sonic laboratory. Each performance is born in the moment, built between gesture, body and presence. Everyday objects take on new functions and the sensory experience crosses the space with intensity.
Free workshop teaches instrument construction
On February 20 at 3pm, the Recyclable Instruments Workshop takes place. Led by the artist himself, the activity invites participants to create instruments from repurposed materials. The proposal explores rhythm, collective creation and environmental awareness.
Open to all audiences, the workshop requires no prior musical knowledge. The focus is on experimentation, creativity and exchange between participants. Registration is free through Sympla reservation.
Funarte strengthens Rio’s independent scene
Dendê Macêdo’s participation reinforces the axis of Programação Continuada Funarte 2025: fostering artists who work at the frontier between music, research and education. The project expands access to qualified stages for independent productions throughout the year.
With over 20 years of history, Audio Rebel has established itself as a reference for independent creation in Brazil. The venue functions as stage, studio and listening space for artists who move between improvisation and aesthetic innovation.
The proposal integrates performance and sustainability, dialoguing with contemporary issues and proposing new forms of listening. Tickets for the show range from R$25 (advance) to R$35 (at the door). The venue offers free admission for trans people and CadÚnico holders.
