Château d’Esclans leads global rosé awards

Château d’Esclans has reinforced its status as a global benchmark in rosé wines after securing five awards at the Global Rosé Masters 2026, including two Master distinctions—the highest honor in the competition.

Part of the Moët Hennessy portfolio, the Provence-based winery stood out among more than 200 wines from 12 different countries in one of the industry’s most respected blind-tasting competitions.

Top-scoring wines

The standout performers were Château d’Esclans 2024 and Garrus 2024, both awarded the prestigious Master distinction. Only five wines reached this level in 2026, with two coming from the same producer.

This achievement highlights the winery’s consistency and its meticulous approach across every stage of production.

Gold medals across the range

Three additional labels received Gold medals: Whispering Angel 2025, Rock Angel 2025, and Les Clans 2024. Together, they showcase the diversity of Château d’Esclans’ portfolio, from approachable elegance to structured complexity.

Whispering Angel, in particular, continues to stand as one of the most recognized rosés worldwide.

A respected global competition

The Global Rosé Masters is organized by The Drinks Business and focuses exclusively on rosé wines. Judging is conducted through blind tastings by industry experts, including sommeliers and international buyers.

“We are very pleased with this result, which reinforces the care and attention dedicated by Château d’Esclans at every stage, from production to the glass,” said Mateus Godoy, Director of Private & Provence Rosé at Moët Hennessy.

Driving the rosé renaissance

Located northeast of Saint-Tropez in Côtes de Provence, Château d’Esclans gained international prominence after its acquisition by Sacha Lichine in 2006, marking the beginning of the so-called “Rosé Renaissance.”

Working alongside winemaker Patrick Léon, the estate redefined rosé as a premium category through a blend of innovation and tradition.

Since joining Moët Hennessy in 2019, the brand has expanded its global reach and strengthened Provence’s reputation as a leading rosé region.
