São Paulo singer Marela releases “Aqui”, a 12-track contemporary MPB album recorded in SP and Belém. Produced mainly at Estúdio Budokaos, it explores human cycles via Nikita Music distribution.
Creative Immersion and Symbolic Journey
Marela poured herself into crafting Aqui. Tracks form a spiral around themes like the whole, the other, and the mirror. This creates a path from dawn to midnight.“This album demanded my presence. Being here. Feet on the ground, literally and symbolically,” she says. For years, she doubted she’d release a full album. Now, it’s a lifelong dream realized.
Every time I go to Belém, it’s like a portal opens and my life changes completely.
Recorded between São Paulo and Belém do Pará, the album features major production from Estúdio Budokaos. Marela finalized it there with Marcel Barretto in an intense creative routine.
Lead Track and Sonic Influences
Mar e Ela stands out as the opening manifesto. Born from a poem after a sea dive, it resonates with female listeners. It blends MPB with surf music, reggae, bolero, indie pop, and spiritual sounds.Eight tracks are new. Six were previously released. It builds on her 2022 EP ideas.
