Matheus Henrique & Gabriel drop “Retronejo Vol. 3” with Marisa Monte cover

Brazilian duo release “Retronejo – Vol. 3” on March 5, featuring the new song “Traiçoeira” and a country rendition of Marisa Monte’s “Amor I Love You”.

After the success of the first two installments, Matheus Henrique & Gabriel are back with “Retronejo – Vol. 3”, arriving on digital platforms at 9 p.m. on March 5. The new volume keeps the project’s nostalgic essence while introducing two fresh tracks: a country reinterpretation of “Amor I Love You” by Marisa Monte and the original song “Traiçoeira”.

The duo’s Retronejo concept blends classic Brazilian country roots with their own songwriting. Past tracks like “Tá Chato” and “Porta-Mala Rouco” grew organically among fans, helping establish their distinctive sound.

Even with a hectic touring schedule, the artists emphasize staying true to their roots. “Our essence is what got us here. The countryside is part of who we are,” says Gabriel. Matheus adds: “Even after all we’ve lived, that nervous excitement never goes away. It’s what keeps the music alive.”
