The Rock 80 Festival returns to Rio de Janeiro’s Aterro do Flamengo this weekend with a full cultural experience. On both Saturday and Sunday, from noon to 10 PM, the iconic waterfront park hosts ten live acts, a diverse food court, a crafts and fashion fair, and a dedicated kids area. Admission is free, and organizers encourage visitors to bring 2 kg of non-perishable food donations.

Aterro do Flamengo is a democratic meeting point, where families from the surrounding neighborhoods come together. It already offers activities for everyone — walking, cycling, sports. Rock 80 adds to that environment, bringing entertainment for music lovers and options for those who want to have lunch, enjoy the post-beach vibe, and relax outdoors.

Saturday: originals, covers, and a Red Hot tribute
On Saturday, April 18, DJ Luis Ribeiro (@djluisribeirorj) opens at noon. Original rock act Banda Aoutra (@bandaoutra) follows at 1 PM. At 2:30 PM, Zoeste Rock & Music (@zoestemusic) takes the stage with covers of Sum 41, The Offspring, Bon Jovi, Evanescence, Rage Against the Machine, Pitty, and more.
Banda Levana (@levanaofc) performs at 4 PM, followed by Litore (@oficiallitore) at 6 PM, paying tribute to O Rappa, Charlie Brown Jr., Detonautas, CPM22, Cazuza, and Lobão. The night closes at 8:30 PM with RHCP Tribute by Snow (@rhcptributebysnow), a full dedication to the Red Hot Chili Peppers catalog.
Sunday: from Legião Urbana to Van Halen
Sunday, April 19 kicks off with DJ Anderson Rock (@andersonrockdj) at noon. At 1 PM, Banda Naus (@bandan.a.u.s) and Klinger (@klinger.oficial) share the stage with classics from Barão Vermelho, Cazuza, Capital Inicial, Legião Urbana, and Titãs.
Banda Amplificados (@bandaamplificados) revisits Peter Frampton, Elton John, Alanis Morissette, Eurythmics, The Police, Pink Floyd, and Kiss at 2:30 PM. Moto Road Band (@motoroadband) brings Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Whitney Houston, and Roxette at 4 PM. Vingadores do Rock (@vingadores.dorock) perform originals alongside Titãs and Barão Vermelho covers at 6 PM. Closing the festival at 8:30 PM, A Conexão 80 (@aconexao80) delivers hits from Dire Straits, Van Halen, Europe, REM, and Simple Minds.
Food, crafts, and family fun
The food court features Macieira BBQ, specializing in grilled meats and running the exclusive Rock Star Backstage area, alongside Farra Bier, available both backstage and to the general public. The wider menu covers skewers, acarajé, angu, stroganoff, garlic bread sandwiches, burgers, French crepes, pizza, and sweets, complemented by craft beers and wine labels — a perfect stop after a morning at the beach.
