With 15,000 fans in Changsha, Rodrigo Teaser turned his Michael Jackson tribute into a major international show.
The Brazilian performer delivered a landmark night on May 2 at the Changsha International Convention & Exhibition Centre, where a fully packed crowd watched an expanded version of “Tributo ao Rei do Pop.” The production recreated Michael Jackson’s world on a monumental scale and further cemented Teaser’s status as a global act.
What stood out first was the show’s ambition. Built around a stage inspired by the size and visual language of the HIStory World Tour, the performance aimed for immersion rather than imitation, creating a setting that felt both theatrical and faithful to Jackson’s legacy.
The musical lineup added another layer of authenticity. Jennifer Batten, Kevin Dorsey and Jonathan Moffett, all part of Jackson’s original band, joined the production and helped drive the audience response, which was immediate and loud from start to finish.
Teaser’s momentum abroad also lands at a moment when Michael Jackson is back in the spotlight thanks to a new biopic, bringing renewed attention to the artist’s cultural reach. That backdrop gives the China performance an extra layer of relevance, especially for audiences following the global revival of Jackson-related projects.
“It was one of the most special nights of my life. Feeling that energy from the Chinese audience, with everything sold out, singing and vibing with me, is something I can’t really explain. Michael was always about connection, and I feel we lived that intensely here,” Teaser said after the show.
