From Brazilian jazz to Berlin’s Young Orchestra soloists, Soberano Jazz Club opens its 2026 season on April 11 in Itaipava, Rio de Janeiro.
The Soberano Jazz Club 2026 Season launches this Saturday, April 11, in Itaipava, in the mountain region of Rio de Janeiro. The lineup brings together performances spanning Brazilian music, instrumental jazz, and classical music, featuring local, national, and international artists.
Musical director Sérgio Saraceni, also a partner at Soberano Jazz Club, shaped the season around three pillars: Soberano da Casa, spotlighting local and regional talent; Soberano Jazz, dedicated to instrumental music; and Clássicos Soberano, bringing concert music closer to a broader audience.
This season, we sought a rare balance between the classical and the contemporary. Soberano is not just a stage — it is a meeting point where jazz technique and the soul of Brazilian music merge. We want every night to be a unique sensory experience. — Sérgio Saraceni, musical director of Soberano Jazz Club
The season is supported by the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro and the Secretary of Culture and Creative Economy through the State Cultural Incentive Law.

Soberaninho: culture that reaches the classroom
Running alongside the main program, the Soberaninho Festival is the season’s social outreach arm, sponsored by GE Aerospace through the State Cultural Incentive Law. Focused on inclusion and arts education, the project will bring free activities to the Espaço Soberano and to public schools in Petrópolis.
The Soberaninho na Escola (Soberaninho at School) initiative will deliver 12 free shows — eight music performances by the Canarinhos de Petrópolis choir and four theater performances by puppet groups Papavento and Cia Inventos. Twelve cultural workshops will also train teachers and reach approximately 4,000 students, ensuring the festival’s impact extends well beyond the stage.
