HBO Max February premieres: Dona Beja and Rivalidade

Dona Beja is already streaming, and February brings Rivalidade Ardente, Kitchen Nightmares (S5) and Como Água para Chocolate (S2) to HBO Max.

February on HBO Max stacks up a big mix: a headline novela, buzzy scripted series, a returning food rescue reality, new films, kids’ titles, and live sports. The month’s anchor is “Dona Beja,” alongside “Rivalidade Ardente” and chef Érick Jacquin’s latest run of “Pesadelo na Cozinha.”

DONA BEJA (Novela / Max Original) — now available. Inspired by Ana Jacinta de São José, a landmark figure in Minas Gerais history, the story revisits a woman who defied social rules and became a symbol of desire, power, and transgression.

This contemporary reimagining expands the conversation around freedom, female agency, and social inequality. Beja stands at the center of political, emotional, and moral conflicts in a society shaped by rigidity and oppression.

But Pedro’s return reignites a passion that challenges family mandates, traditions, and social rules. In a Mexico shaped by change and tension, each character must face limits and make decisions that define their fate.

PESADELO NA COZHINA, Season 5 (Reality show) — premieres February 20. Across 12 episodes, French chef Érick Jacquin advises struggling restaurants, expanding this season’s visits to four Brazilian states.

Known for his sharp humor and explosive personality, Jacquin pushes owners toward practical changes. The show also reinforces standards for cleaning, uniforms, workplace conduct, and customer service.

RIVALIDADE ARDENTE (Series) — premieres February 13. Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov are Major League Hockey stars, bound by ambition, rivalry, and a magnetic attraction neither fully understands.

What starts as a secret romance between fresh-faced rookies grows into an eight-year journey of love, denial, and self-discovery. As they chase glory on the ice, they must decide if a ruthless world leaves room for real love.
