Michelin stars, live NBA games and glass-bottom kayaking: Orlando has a full universe of adult experiences waiting in 2026.
Most people think of Orlando as the Theme Park Capital of the World — and they’re right. But beneath that family-friendly reputation lies a city that genuinely caters to adult travelers. Whether you’re into fine dining, live sports, outdoor adventure or nostalgic pop culture, Orlando’s 2026 calendar is packed with experiences that have nothing to do with cartoon characters or roller coasters.
Award-winning dining: Michelin stars and beyond
Orlando’s food scene reached a milestone in 2025 when Sorekara became the city’s first two-Michelin-star restaurant. Its creative Japanese tasting menu has drawn attention from food lovers across the country. Close behind, Ômo by Jônt earned one star for its inventive blend of French techniques, Japanese ingredients and local flair.
In total, Orlando’s 2025 MICHELIN Guide features nine starred restaurants, plus several Bib Gourmand picks for exceptional value. For something more casual and creative, Sampaguita Ice Cream serves Vietnamese-inspired scoops with tropical ingredients that have become a local favorite.
Live sports: NBA, ice hockey and women’s soccer
The Kia Center is home to the Orlando Magic, who host multiple NBA games throughout the 2026 season — a can’t-miss experience for basketball fans. The same arena also hosts the Orlando Solar Bears ice hockey team, with games running through April. The engineering feat that makes it all possible: the basketball court sits directly on top of the ice rink, allowing both sports to share the same space.
Women’s soccer fans should mark March 15 on their calendars: the Orlando Pride open their NWSL home season at Inter&Co Stadium against Seattle Reign FC. For Brazilian visitors, it’s a rare chance to watch Marta play in front of a passionate local crowd.
Park festivals for grown-ups: Mardi Gras and Butterbeer Season
At Walt Disney World, the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts (January 16 – February 23, 2026) blends Broadway performances, fine art installations and curated culinary menus into one immersive experience. It’s the kind of event that makes EPCOT worth revisiting even for seasoned Disney guests.
Over at Universal Orlando, Universal Mardi Gras (February 7 – April 4) brings the spirit of New Orleans to the park with elaborate floats, bead throws and live concerts. Then Butterbeer Season (March 1 – May 31) transforms The Wizarding World of Harry Potter into a celebration, with limited-edition drinks, themed desserts and exclusive merchandise.
At SeaWorld Orlando, the Seven Seas Food Festival continues through May with international food and drink offerings paired with over 30 live music performances.
Shopping: luxury, outlets and new concepts
The Florida Mall, the largest shopping center in Central Florida, is welcoming Round1 Bowling and Arcade in 2026 — a Japanese entertainment concept featuring bowling lanes and classic arcade machines. The mall also added 11 new brands to its lineup. Meanwhile, The Mall at Millenia continues to anchor the luxury shopping scene, with an expanded Christian Louboutin, a new Versace store and a renovated Gucci gallery.
For bargain hunters, the Orlando International Premium Outlets, Vineland Premium Outlets and Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores offer deep discounts on sought-after brands. Neighborhoods like Winter Park, College Park and Vila Ivanhoe round out the scene with local boutiques, vintage shops and handcrafted goods.
Nature and adventure: kayaking, springs and swamp tours
Get Up and Go Kayaking offers guided tours in clear kayaks through the glass-like waters of Rock Springs and Winter Park — a genuinely stunning experience. The Rock Spring Run is ideal for swimming and floating downstream, while Spirit of the Swamp Airboat Rides provides a thrilling look at Florida’s wetlands, complete with birds and alligators.
For a more relaxed afternoon, the Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour glides through canals past historic mansions and lush Florida scenery, offering a peaceful contrast to the city’s busier attractions.
Nostalgia and pop culture: DeLorean, Batmobile and arcades
Dezerland Park is a must for pop culture enthusiasts. The Orlando Auto Museum inside showcases iconic vehicles from film and TV, including the DeLorean from Back to the Future, the Batmobile and the Flintstones’ car. The complex also features go-karts, bowling and a massive arcade with hundreds of classic games.
On International Drive, Madame Tussauds Orlando lets visitors pose with hyper-realistic wax figures of celebrities and iconic characters. It sits just steps from ICON Park, which brings together a panoramic Ferris wheel, themed bars and a range of adult entertainment options.
