Responsible tourism at the heart of it
The expedition was organized in partnership with Katerre, a company specializing in responsible, high-end tourism in the Amazon, based in Novo Airão. Katerre holds a strong commitment to environmental preservation and meaningful engagement with local communities. The journey was documented in a photo essay by Evandro Martins and a video-manifesto that captures the essence of what this new venture means for TSH.
Travel has always been one of The Summer Hunter’s most natural territories. Since the platform’s beginning, 12 years ago, we’ve talked about solar destinations and everything that unfolds from them. This first Expedition inaugurates a new front for TSH: turning our curation into a real experience, alongside commercial partners who share this unique vision, and bringing interesting people together in journeys that connect nature, culture, and togetherness.

The expedition also inspired the season premiere of the podcast Desenrola (fifth season), released on Tuesday (7) with the theme “Can you handle discomfort?” The episode is available on Spotify.

With the first edition a success, TSH is already planning future expeditions. Moreno describes them as “a genuine opportunity for interaction between people, brands, and initiatives that orbit around creativity, the spirit of discovery, curiosity, and real shared experiences.” The platform currently reaches more than 5 million people per month, with 430,000 Instagram followers, a weekly newsletter, a print magazine, a website, talks, and a benefits club.

Brazilian platform The Summer Hunter launched Expedição TSH, a new immersive experience sailing the Rio Negro and Anavilhanas archipelago in the Amazon.
From digital curation to real-world experience
After 12 years mapping solar destinations and publishing its signature Miniguias travel guides, The Summer Hunter has taken a bold new step into the physical world. The Brazilian editorial, cultural curation, and contemporary lifestyle platform has launched Expedição TSH — a new initiative that transforms the brand’s curatorial vision into collective, immersive journeys.
The debut took place in the Amazon. The group departed from Novo Airão (AM), roughly 200 km from Manaus, navigating the Rio Negro and exploring the Anavilhanas archipelago and Jaú National Park. Twenty carefully selected “solar people” — professionals spanning different fields of Brazil’s creative universe — made up the group.
Who joined the expedition
Participants were chosen for their connection to The Summer Hunter’s history and their contributions to a more creative, human world. The group included:
