Costa Diadema conducts first technical visit for travel agents at Porto de Outeiro during Cop30 in Belém.
Docked since early November at Porto de Outeiro, in Belém, the Costa Diadema welcomed local travel agents for an unprecedented technical visit. The activity took place on Thursday, November 20, while the ship serves as a floating hotel during Cop30.
The Costa Diadema became the first ship to offer a technical visit for agencies at Porto de Outeiro. Participants explored areas such as the theater, restaurants, bars, pools, jacuzzis, shopping area, spa, youth spaces and several cabin categories.
The program also included a lunch featuring Italian and international cuisine. The initiative aimed to present the ship’s structure and strengthen ties with the travel market in northern Brazil.
The Executive President of Costa Cruises for the Americas, Dario Rustico, and the Executive President of Clia Brasil, Marco Ferraz, welcomed the agents aboard. Participants updated their knowledge about products such as Air&Sea, Sea Destinations, and Costa’s cruise offerings in South America, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Caribbean and Asia.
Plaque exchange ceremony in Belém
The debut of the Costa Diadema in Belém also featured the traditional plaque exchange ceremony. The event, held on November 19, celebrated the ship’s operation in a new destination.
Captain Ignazio Giardina, Dario Rustico and Costa Cruises Brazil Institutional President Renê Hermann welcomed representatives from the Pará Port Authority, the State Secretariat for Environment, the Cop30 Secretariat, the Belém Pilotage Service, the Federal Police, Anvisa and Clia Brasil.
“Costa Diadema’s arrival in Belém as a floating accommodation for Cop30 was an important opportunity to strengthen our relationship with the local market. The North region has great potential to grow in the cruise segment. Porto de Outeiro, recently built, offers a unique structure that can and should be used to support tourism development in the region,” says Dario Rustico.
